Description

“Do you choose the yellow or the green speech?”

Helgi Dýrindal-Joensen is turning 65 and throwing a banquet for family, friends, and acquaintances.

In spite of his daughter, Linda’s, recent suicide, the party is to be held, and the birthday boy’s other three children are attending, of course.

The oldest son, Kristjan, who was Linda’s twin brother, is arriving from France. Helena and her fiancé are also coming. The youngest son, Mikkjal, is not invited as he turns violent when drunk, and his father is afraid he will spoil the celebration. But he shows up nevertheless, together with his wife, Maria.

Kristjan is the first to deliver a speech. He has written two speeches, one yellow, one green, and his father is to choose, which one he wants to hear. The father chooses the green speech. With the green speech, a terrible secret is revealed: Helgi has sexually abused both Kristjan and Linda.

Whom are the siblings to believe? Whom are the guests to believe? Is Kristjan mentally ill? Is he lying?

The festive occasion turns into a raging fight over truth.
